These light beams are absorbed by the hair's pigment, or melanin. In this absorption process, the light energy converts to heat which ultimately damages the hair follicle. Damaging the hair follicle results in delayed hair growth and as the follicles are weakened over a number of sessions, the hair stops growing back altogether. ​While this is a great long-term topical solution to unwanted hair growth, if you suspect your hair growth is hormone related, we always recommend consulting with your doctor to receive additional treatment options.
